I have an Aardvark USB3. (usb audio interface) Only 1 pre-amp input and stereo line in. Nice sound, headphone monitoring and slider volume control for my monitor speakers without using a mixer. So, I like it. Straightforward, simple, solid device. I'm running a DMP3 into the line inputs for preamps.
Question is, can I install a decent PCI card, (such as the audiophile 24/96 or similar) and run them simultaneously to gain 2 more recording inputs? Will this stuff play nice together? Anybody tried anything similar?

There's no guarantee that it will work, but most likely it will. :)

BUT there will be syncing problems between the two cards. So unless you can sync them somehow, the two cards will "drift apart" if you record long enough.

Somebody, tell him how this works! :D

Each card has its own clock crystal to provide the timing for sampling. Unless you slave one clock crystal to the other thru a hardware link or software, the tracks will drift apart over time.

Think of what happens with car turning signals on 2 different cars when you're waiting at a light...
