yes
if i got a g force, or a g sharp, could i set up presets within the banks, to change the amp as well? like tone 1a is a dirty guitar with chorus, tone 2a is a clean guitar with flanger..., and so on.

i'm thinkin about a mesa roadking 212. they have 4 channels...so if each preset could use one of the 4 channels, that would be orgasmic.

off the top of my head I'm gonna say 'no'. I don't have a tc electronics f/x processor, but generally speaking the f/x processor is going to alter the signal chain only. You plug your guitar in, and the modified sound comes out.

My ART processor also has MIDI ins and outs, (which could conceivably be used to control something else) but I don't believe they can be tied to the patches themselves.

Then the amp would have to have a compatible way of switching the channels.

damn. does anybody know of a way to do this?

Have you ever seen the foot pedal for the road king? It's HUGE!! You may be able to find a midi pedal that will control some, but not all, of it's functions. The Behringer FCB1010 is a good place to start. It has two relay controlled switches that would control a channel switching amp, and are recalled with the touch of a button. If that pedal won't do it, then no mass-produced unit will. The problem you will have is finding someone who could tell you if the FCB1010 will actually work, or not. More than likely, you will need to order a wiring schem from Mesa Boogie, and have someone who really really know how circuits work look at it and tell you.

Good luck!

I have the G-Major and I use a Behringer FBC1010 MIDI foot controller to control the G-Major. I have presets on the G-Major that control the amplifier (Crate Blue Voodoo) to switch between clean and distortion channels whenever a preset calls for it. It works without a problem. I had trouble learning how to do all of setup at the beginning and I had to read the manual a couple times, and the Behringer FBC1010 was really confusing to me but I finally got a hang of it and it works wonders.
