APL, I've told you this before. Your daughter can sing. What's the vocal chain like on this?

What kind of plugins? You indicated the plural - are you using multiple compression stages?

LOL, I can't remember exactly. I put on the saffire compressor plugin with the vocal preset on that track. I may have used one of the Reaper compressors, eq, and a limiter on the whole mix. I had been rendering the mix file from Reaper and bringing that into Cubasis for "mastering" because I'm more familiar with the compressor in that, but I'm trying to get out of that habit and trying to do it all in Reaper.

But I don't know what I'm doing, either. I am getting better or not as bad.

/shrugs/

You might want to write your settings down. The vocal sounds pretty good.

Oh, and btw, this was tracked live with both of them in the room at the same time performing together at once.

Here ya go...

Sounds good. Your daughter has a great voice. So I'd bring the vocals up more, they sound a little "behind" the guitar. Not sure if this is do-able since you tracked them both at the same time.

Absolutely doable. There were a pair of MSH-1 on the guitar and a SP C1 on the vox, tracked into three channels in Reaper.

I'd have to say Britt's definitely bringing it. (Watch out Chris Harris lol).
The recording sounds great - well mixed.
For live it's very good, but I try comping a few tracks to get a really tight version.
Great voice, lots of feel. Writing is strong too, familiar but unique. Keep up the good work.

I've been keeping up with this UDT stuff ever since I've been on this board and I'm loving it. I usually hate female singers, but your daughter can sing bro. Will She sounds great man. Loving it.

apl,
time to get sorted with a recording log mate - when you strike upon a chain that works this well on a particular voice you ought to have it in the arsenal.
This is VERY good.
The thread title reminded me of a poem I wrote in the late b70's...
Wil she, will she, will she lecher
Absinthe minded old man?
Bad puneh?
Ah, youth, poetry and, in this instance a lovely voice well recorded.

It is really cool. :) The singing is very very cool. The playing is really cool. The song is enjoyable to listen to. Worth multiple listens. Tell them to keep it up.
