Hey Guys,

Been out of recording for a while, and I've recently decided to get back into it. When I was doing recording 3-4 years ago, my set up was as follows:
G4 Power Mac-->Digi002 Rack

Worked great! Problem is, I no longer have either of these.

My plan is to purchase the Digi003r+ and run it on my laptop, so that I have portability. So my question is whether you guys know if I can run the software on my computer or not.

It's a Dell XPS M140 Intel Pentium M Processor 1.73GHz, 504MB of RAM, Running Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Now I know I will probably have to upgrade my RAM and hard drive...but as far as processing, will this do a decent job?

Thanks!

i have two dell pcs, one with 1.7 ghz x 1gb ram, and one 2.4 ghz with 2gb ram. I run Mpowered PT on the 2.4 ghz and still can only get about 10 tracks wtih effects at 24/96. it bogs down pretty bad on the 1.7 ghz machine

Let's also make a few things clear:

a 1.7ghz Intel Centrino is not the same as a 1.7ghz Core 2 Duo!!

Also, the higher the sample rate, the more CPU playback is going to eat. I run a 1.6ghz Intel Core Duo and I can tell you that it runs pretty damned smoothe.

PT8 is a lot more cpu intesive. I would run pt7.3 or earlier. It has a lot more features and graphics that will take up more cpu then 7.3.
