Hello, i was looking at the delta1010, delta44, and maudiophile, and wondered if these pci cards (or pci in general) work with any software? i am currently using cool edit pro 2.0. thx for the help

Should be fine. Check and make sure they have ASIO drivers and that Cool Edit supports that.

Yes. PCI interfaces work with all recording software. However if your in the market you should consider a firewire interface, pci is slowly being phased out over the next couple of years.

Yada, Yada, Yada. Purchasing a PCI interface will be perfectly fine. I just bought an Echo Layla 3G and I'm not losing sleep over the supposed fact that PCI is gonna be six feet under soon. I'm certainly not advising against Firewire (owned a Firepod last year), and there are plenty of great interfaces out there to choose from using this. I just don't think that buying something PCI would be a terrible thing to do.

I do realize that manufacturers are probably not planning on any new PCI interface designs, but the support should be there for quite a while yet. I'd bet that some will even offer special upgrade pricing to Firewire or the latest and greatest.

Shouldn't have any problems with most PCI interfaces out there. I'd recommend using ASIO drivers as well with whatever software you use. I believe all the interfaces you mentioned DO have ASIO drivers that work great. Not sure about Cool Edit Pro and ASIO.
