Are they a substitute for a FR? meaning like if properly installed, are they supposed to go up and down in the same range as an fr? or am i missing something. to me, this looks like its just supposed to work like a regular strat tremolo. but i dont have much experience with tremolos, or seen any outside of a body so i cant really tell :o . also, are they any good?

a wilkinson tremolo floats well above the body while a regular strat tremolo rests flush with the body. i guess a wilkinson is kind of half strat trem, half fr.

so like it sticks out sorta? im looking right now for a picture of one on a guitar.

well the tremolo studs stick out of the body and the knife part of the tremolo rests on them, so yea. i think most fr's these days sit in a recessed cavity in the body?
