my amp records direct via usb so if I get an audio interface will I be able to monitor it through the interface?

Most of the decent ones have direct monitoring.

Most interfaces don't play nice together using their own drivers. You'd probably need something like ASIO4All to get both the amp and the interface working at the same time.

Depending on your DAW and O/S, most likely you could select the amp as the audio input device and the interface as the audio output device.
Or eliminate the (questionable) amp USB circuit, and run the amp's DI or headphone out (or mic the amp) to the interface.

Technicaly yes, practically - NO.
You are most likely going to find that the latency from your amp's USB output - thru the computer - then out to your interface will make this solution unworkable. You would be better off mic'ing your amp into the interface or using a line out from the amp into your interface, then monitoring from the interface while tracking.

Depends of your daw and interface. Depends even of your cpu speed (dual core at least)
