cant i get this mic anymore. Its a FAKE sm57 bought cheap off ebay and whilst messing around today figured it sounds absolute shit on my snare but sounds AMAZING on my toms!!!!!! Much better than my pg56 on there currently, it doesnt have a low end 'boomy ring' sound but has the sound of the stick hitting the skin, much more attack. I put this up against my sm58 which is supposed to sort of be the same mic as a real sm57 and the sm58 picks up the low end 'boom' which i dont want! I cant just get any old fake i need the same one! and the guy i bought it off has been blocked from ebay for selling the fake ones! :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:





Thats th only useless thread i have ever posted, intended on being the last one!
 
Next subject: Has anyone got any unwanted fake sm57's? If anyone does (doubt it) i would buy them off of you!
 
It sounds great on toms but sounds like shit on snares? You sure it isn't a real SM57? :D

Sorry. Couldn't resist. Never did like the sound of a 57 on snare....

I am very happy with my fake Neve console. 800 inputs and all seem to behave just like the real thing. I got it in China for $500 and feel it is worth it. The only tip off that it is a replica is the dials all go to 11.

Otherwise, a perfect replica for a low price.
