I'll take the previous thread(New at Midi question) a bit further.
I have a home studio. I record to my PC, it's a P4 2.4g with a 10,000rpm Western Digital SATA Raptor using Emagic Logic Audio Platinum. I have a Tascam TM d-1000 digital mixer that connects to the PC via an ADAT Edit card. I usually record the drum tracks(acoustic), then bass tracks and guitar tracks thru a Line 6 Pod, keyboard tracks, vocals, etc.... My drum machine(Alesis SR-16), keyboard(some cheap as* Casio), Pod, and mixer all have MIDI ports. I have a usb>midi cable, and have been able to connect the Pod to the SounDiver software, which gives some extra controls over the Pod itself, but outside of that, how could I use midi to improve my setup?

Thanks for the post Stealth, but I think I may need to be clearer. I don't use the midi capabilities my system has for anything other than the Pod. I'm looking for suggestions on how I could improve my recording process by using midi. If I'm not mistaken, the link you provided was for a multiple input/output midi switch box, I don't need multiple i/o's because I don't use midi. I hope this makes it clearer, and appreciate any idea's.

You could use midi to control your software with the Tascam.

Agreed.....
In addition, automated program changes for your Pod.
