my cakewalk homestudio 2000 just doesnt recognizes my stereo line in from my soundblaster live, it keeps on saying: "one or more soundcards are not stereocompatible" bullsh*t, sincee stereo recording works perfectly with cubase. but i just cant figure out the midi setup for cubase, which on the other hand works perfectly with cakewalk.... realize my terrible situation?!? i would be grateful for help in any way!!!! (holidays starting on friday and stuff....) cheers, a music fanatic

I've seen mention of this problem here before. Did you try searching the BBS? Try the SONAR newsgroup that Cakewalk operates, too...

If memory serves me correctly this is the result of using Creative's drivers.

Previousl solution was to use the Microsoft drivers provided with the OS disk. However, I also seem to recall that Creative has released new drivers that fix the problem as well.

Many people also recommend KX drivers for the Live cards.

Bottom line is you need to dump the drivers you are currently using. (BTW, the likely reason that this only effects HS2002 is that that program uses WDM drivers, whereas Cubase uses ASIO drivers. (However, Sonar 2.2 can also use either WDM or ASIO drivers. :) )

You are probably using Creative's WDM drivers from their website. They plain just don't work with HS2002. You need to use the driver that came with 2000/XP.

great!!!! thanks a lot you guys, i'm just downloading the new creative ones and the kx ones. have a good and remember, make love, not war... ;)=
