Why No Bridge + Neck Option On Strats?

Would it kill Fender to offer this option? Maybe as a 2 position (off and on) switch in addition to the five way selector.

If not Fender how about one of the many manufacturers of Stratalikes?

The Carvin Bolt has a mini-switch in place of one of the tone pots that gives you the neck + bridge and all three.

If they made them stock like that, what would modders do?

It's such an easy mod, why should Fender bother. Mine has a push/pull volume pot, which turns on the neck pickup. Bang, done.

Oooh. A push pull pot sounds like a good idea. :)

Now, where do I get one from?

burns marquees have that option and they are VERY strat-like

My Burns Marquee has a push-pull to do neck and bridge pickups ... but they're rez-o-matiks rather than Fender clones.

Btw - that Burns has to be the best cheap guitar on the market. :)

I know the Marquee has the option, but I don't think they're widely distributed over there. I just thought it'd be nice if our colonial cousins could have it too.

The other thing about the Marquee is that no case in the world seems to fit it. A guy called the shop asking for one the other day, so I tried half a dozen different ones and it didn't fit in them ... so we rang the distributor and they had no idea where to source one either!!!! :(

Oh, and calling the Yanks colonial isn't going to help much either ........... ;)

check out G&L -- several guitar models use an expander switch that will enable this. They play better and sound better than Fender (hey, they are the real Fender anyway) at least in my oh so humble opinion. My Comanche also uses a high pass filter along with a trad. tone pot so it is amazingly flexible in producing sounds from tele twang to killer faux archtop sounds.

Just a great guitar. Plus all kinds of options available that you're not going to get from Fender -- like your choice of neck radius, string spacing/nut width, etc.

You can buy the "SuperSwitch" and have it installed. This will give you any combination you could imagine.

You can also have a "Blend" pot installed.......this alows you to blend in the 3rd pickup that you are not using - For example, If you are in pos. 2 (Bridge + Mid) you can turn the blend pot and bring in as much of the Neck pup as you want......up to "Full On".

I have this on my 50th ann. strat and it offers unlimited options in tone. :)
