I've been uploading songs as .mp3s to my website (http://www.leroysmith.net/sights&sounds.html), and they would normally play under Windows Media Player. Well, as of late, the song clips have been opening under Quick Time. What the hell is going on? I haven't changed anything on my site, and I've tried two different computers with the same results.

Notes: I'm using CakeWalk Sonar 3.0...exporting to .wav...mp3 encoding with winLAME...then uploading to an internet-ready computer.

Any ideas?

Computer recording is such a mess...but at least I'm learning a lot.

On YOUR PC, Quicktime is probably the application set to play mp3 files. Sometimes WMP and Quicktime (as well as Winamp) like to fight over who gets to play media files. You may have recently installed Quicktime, or it got installed, or it decided to trump WMP. Go to WMP, select Settings (I forgot which menu it's under) and then File Types. Make sure mp3 is selected. Voila!

Anytime you install a new program, it will most likely make itself the default for what it does.

If you can't figure out a way to reset it, you can always try reinstalling Window's Media Player. It's not the most efficient way of doing things, but it should get the job done.
