why doesn't sternberg offer a demo version of cubase?

after looking at the features of cubase 2 SL, i am really considering changing form cool edit because of it's rewire capabilites and vst abilites. The problem is i don't even know if i will like as there is no demo to try it out. How does steinberg expect us to just go out on a whim and throw down 400 bucks without even trying it first.
