Why does'nt Sonar have an Audio View like Cakewalk 9 does? I frequently use it for editing in Cakewalk 9, but with Sonar I just can't figure it out!

Nope, but it has Loop Construction view. You can edit 'em directly from Track view. Easier I think...

I had this problem too unti I made the connection that the new TRACK view is, in effect, the AUDIO view.

You can effectively do anything in Sonar in the track view that you could do in CWPA's Audio view.

What r u getting stuck with? If it's just editting the sound files - do it in the track view - u don't actually need to be in the loop construction view, (unless of course, you are constructing loops)

Welp...

In CWP9 I used the audio view to eliminate glitchs, pops mistakes by cutting or deleting in the audio wave sound file. It was easy. Can this be done with Sonar in the track view?

...Sure. Just select the track, expand the view as necessary, set the from -- thru limit, right click, cut or delete...

Try this -

1. Expand the track that you are trying to work with so that you can only see it on screen and so that three bars of music fills all the horizontal space. Click on the track to make sure it is active.

2. Using the mouse, click and drag along the ruler, just under the bar markers to highlight the section that you want to delete.

3. Press delete. Only the highlighted section should go.

Make sense?

Also, in step #2, you could use the EDIT-SELECT BY TIME command to choose the range you want to delete, (or edit or copy etc)

Ciao,

Q.

If you hold the "Alt" key you can then select with the left mouse button directly on the sound wave.

I am having no luck at all with this!

...umh, sorry. Doesn't mean to piss you off. My last post must be too short. :o I was hurry. BTW Qwerty & Fret just gave you better explanation. I think you should try and come back with more detail on what exactly do you expect... :)

Thanks guys...

I tried the EDIT-SELECT BY TIME command and it worked! I tell you fellas......I hate those help files! They are too vaque or require past knowledge of the program.

Since I also have CWP9 it's a good jump off point. But there are major differances. Thanks guys for filling in the voids!
