why does cool edit stop when recording

Hello -
when I am recording a new file - whether its from a from mic or
anything - cool edit sometimes just stops recording -
Any Ideas why ? Thanx

I am sure That I have enough disk space as I am using 0nly 2.5GB & my hardrive is 20GB

Any other ideas?
 
Was it working before and then went wrong? Or are you trying to use Cool for the first time?

When it stops recording, what happens exactly? The whole thing freezes?

I have been using CEP for about 6 months now -

the problem is very sporadic - 1 out of 5 times it just stops recording after around 2 minutes.

the machine doesn't hang - it's just as if i pressed the stop button -

try to re-install.. I'm using CE on defenitely a worse comp than yours and I do not recognize this problem.

Be sure you didn't set up a recording time limit.
 
I would also think you probably have very many progams running on your computer and F_cksia could be right to.

Have been facing the same problem but havent had time to re-install.

I would also think your OS needs to be re-installed.

I am interested in finding out how it goes. It doesnt happen all the time. That's why I am will to let it go.
 
did anybody have a cure for the problem? mine just started doing it as well... out of the blue... after about about 2 months of no problems.
 
there is this option in Ce to stop the recording after a certain time. Maybe it is checked accidently by you or by an error of the computer.
 
I experienced what I THOUGHT was a stop in the recording, but I saw the hard disk light on so I waited and waited. And sure enough, CoolEdit was still recording, but the display wasn't getting updated. I fixed the problem by closing down most running applications (e.g. virus scanners, keyboard monitors, Palm HotSync, etc). Thorne
