why do it clip?

so I converted my wave normalized to -.05db to a mp3 and now it clips. At least I got the dishes done while I was waiting.

Hi Will,

Try Normalizing to about -3dB instead. I believe what might be happening is the MP3 encoder is raising the final level a bit. That might be why it's clipping.

thanks for your help another thing

that is happening is sound forge says there is an illegal marker or region and then corrects it. is that any thing major? My song didn't clip this time.
