Costco is selling 17 inch Princeton LCD monitors for $389 bucks. Cheapest I've seen for this kind of quality.

More room on the desk, no monitor buzzing in the speakers, oh and it looks very cool. Goodbye monster tube. Why didn't I do this sooner?

Funny ... I have a Costco coupon for $50 off the 19" version. I've been saving it until mid-march when it becomes valid. It will cost me around $500, but well worth it. 700:1 contrast ratio and has digital/Analog inputs.

Like you, I can't wait to get rid of the hum, especially when recording with my fenders. The single coils are terrible around a CRT monitor. Should avoid some eye strain as well ....

The 19 inch verision is sweet. Was back checking that one out today. Happy for now on the 17 inch.

I just reallized these things have speakers built in. Not that I would used them for mixing but nice to have another reference source.

Yes and the digital cable comes with.

I've been using an LCD monitor for a couple years now and I find the eyestrain to be considerably less than with CRT monitors. LCD monitors are truly a gigantic step forward in monitor technology.

especially for recording! I went from a 17" CRT that took up all my workstation counter space to a 15" LCD. The display's as big, I can sit in front of it and record my single-coil equipped bass without getting frying-bacon sounds, it's lightweight if I have to move it, it sits back close to the wall, and it's cool black. On my OTHER computer, which I use for graphics, I have a NEC 18.1" on a VESA stand that lowers it down several inches. If either burn out I gotta get new ones!
