I have been using cakewalk homestudio 2002 for a year with no problems after i finally got it set up. Then recently for no reason i have been able to find, homestudio just stopped recognizing my audiophile 2496 soundcard!! Everything program is still able to use the sound card but homestudio can not. I haven't changed the hardware of my computer. I'll post the specifics of my computer as soon as i find out what i have. I am using windows XP. Setting up cakewalk was a pain in the ass and after i got it setup(with the help of some great people from this message board) it worked flawlessly. Now i can't record or playback any cakewalk files! Any one with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use Sonar, but they should be similiar.

try this:

1)Start>settings>control panel>sounds&audio devices>audio>make sure audiophile is your primary recording&playback device

In Cakewalk:
2) Options>audio>general> run wave profiler

3) Options>audio>drivers>select the in&out drivers for audiophile2496

hope this helps

also, check out M-Audio's website and make sure you have the newest driver for your card.
