Hi, I recently purchased a Fostex VF08 to take to practices to record my band. I then come home and run the VF08 through my mixing board and effects then to my computer into Cakewalk. I just burned a cd but I only get sound from one speaker. I tried it in several differnt players. When I played the music on Cakewalk I could here the music in both of my computer speakers. I think my problem is that I connected my mixer to the computer by hooking a 1/4 jack from the Left Control Room Out of my mixer to the computer. Should I hook a jack to the right control room out as well and get a Y cable to splice it to my computer

Is the cakewalk file stereo (two waveforms) or just mono (one waveform)? If its stereo, the problem is with your mixdown. But I bet its mono there and you just have it panned center. You should do exactly what you said. Just make sure you get a dual TS (mono) to TRS (stereo) Y-cable. Then, make sure you have the two tracks panned L/R before you mix down to preserve the stereo mix.
