Whose gear do you AVOID like the plauge?

....and at the same time - do you own any of that gear currently?

There are too many options to poll - so just post the gear you love to hate.
 
I try to avoid SirN's gear like the plague. Mainly cos its infected with the plague.

I also avoid those Be*****er guys, and anything I can't identify or google. If it's good, people will talk about it.
 
I refuse to use any gear.

It's just best that way.
 
Fender solid state guitar amps
Boss eq pedal (noisy, unuseable)
Crate (solid state) guitar amps are a bad joke too.

I can't say because I'd have to get all political and that usually doesn't go over very well.
 
I can be quite the Hater but I don't think Crate is all that bad of a company. I had a BX-100 that kicked the crap out of the Ampeg combos everytime (till it broke.. haha. But that one was on me.). Their little 15 watt practice amps can really rock for a guitar track too. Over all they aren't the best but they don't cost what the best does either.

But I will shit on Berhri all day long :D
 
Nady, Behri, have some purchased before I knew any thing about this stuff. Most of the Nady gear doesn't work anymore, usually lasted a few weeks, too long to return it to the store and not worth the shipping costs to repair. Behri works and would be OK for what u pay for it, just don't like their copy cat ways.

it's funny-- normally i'd agree and even though i'm finally to the point where i have some decent gear, i've recently gotten the nady tube mic mod fever and a piece of peavey gear-- the vcl/2, is at the top of my wish list.
i still would never use a crate though :)!
 
I donno 'bout their active electronics but the Peavey Wolfie's kick butt!

Oh, their PGP-20 isn't bad either.

I try not to hate any specific manufacturer and I can't even think of a specific piece of gear that I've owned that I "hated" (certainly some pieces of gear I liked less than others). I've never owned any Crate or Nady gear - but I've had some select Peavey and Behringer gear that wasn't half bad.

Over the years I had to purchase what I could afford at the time. While the quality curve may be higher now than when I was younger - whatever I bought, served it's purpose at the time and allowed me to create music - I can't find hate in that :confused:

At least for recording, some older Peavey gear is very decent -- of course it's gear that apparently wasn't actually manufactured by Peavey. And of course these have all been discontinued.

AMR VMP-2 tube mic preamp
AMR VC/L-2 tube compressor/limiter
AMR Tube Sweetener

Any of these is well worth checking out.
 
Crate amps, though the one preamp (yes, a Crate mic pre) that I have doesn't absolutely suck.
Anything made by a certain B-word company.
Line 6. Any.
