If you thought I was talking about worst emcee or beat maker in the forum, you were dead wrong.

Actually, I was looking through my mp3 files and found some pretty old stuff that I've had that had....athletes rapping!!!

I thought to myself that I must have downloaded this off of limewire to see if they were any good back then. Which brings me to my question.

Which athlete in your opinion (that you've actually heard) is the worst on the mic?

My first nomination goes to Kobe Bryant. Even with 50 Cent and Prodigy on the track with him, his lyrics killed the whole song. You could tell 50 and Prod were only giving half ass verses anyway kinda like "I'm getting paid regardless and the beat isn't all that so why go all out".

My second goes to Shaq. I think I only listened to his first CD at first out of curiosity, then it was straight humor. I'm like "Shaq actually trying to rap and it's funny!!!" This was back in the 90's when he first came out like that (not now).

Third goes to Macho Man Randy Savage. Once again, I downloaded that one out of curiosity, but still it was kind of funny (I shouldn't even have to go into detail).

Rofl, whats the song called the Kobe did? I agree shaq is prety bad.... He got ripped apart after calling skills out. Any of you hear that cd? Its prety funny

actgaully i must be the only person that kinda liked shaq -- although there is only one song i remember feelin -- the "we dont need no hook" joint that had rza in it . . .

hate on shaq if ya want to but that track you cant stop the rain and i got skillz ws the shit for its time. all rap aint ment to have lyrical skills . some is just a representation of the times. this represented the beginning of sports stars trying to multi task and being taken as serious lyrical threats. (Still waiting) now granted on i got skillz he sounded like he had a mouth full of marshmallows but he always do that track hit hard on 12's and harder on 15's (subs , not rims)

I don't remember any of those other Shaq songs, but he did drop more than one CD. I think those might have been on future releases.

By the way, Kobe only has two songs that I've heard of. One is "Thug Poet" which I still laugh at. The other is "K.O.B.E." which I haven't heard before, only heard of.

Shaq had maybe one or two good cuts on the first CD, but I think the beat was carrying him.

BTW those were not in any specific order, but Shaq can rap better than Kobe, Macho Man is just horrible, even with decent beats backing him. He ain't had no experience though. Only thing that sticks out from Shaq and Kobe was Kobe tried to play himself off as a thug and pimp. Anybody with money can pose like a pimp. Kobe ain't no thug though.

Now on the flipside, I heard John Cena's CD. While it's not the next major thing to come out, it's not that bad of a CD (and it shouldn't have been given his WWE gimmick style), I liked quite a few of the tracks.

What yall think about ron artest's musical efforts??? Ive only heard the song he has a video for, but it wasnt all that bad...

Havent heard Rons music yet. Have to be something I'll look into.

I love shaq. He does his thing but when he called skillz out again when the lakers were in the finals with the pistons, skills put together a mixtape and he ripped shaq apart haha. Its a funny ass mixtape if any of you have a chance to pick it up. I picked up my copy from ebay for like 5$. :D

You can't stop the rain was my joint!!!!! Y'all dudes iz sleepin on Shaq-fu. I think he can take the freestyle king title from Lil Flip...

BTW, Anybody heard of Jewelz (that pronounced Jew-wells)?

i aint heard the john cena cd - but that got damm track he got for his music when he is wrestlin is just pure fuckin fire!!!!!

Never heard AI or Artest but I might have to check em out. Cena's beats on his CD are fire, lyrically he ain't a bad cat and he ain't afraid to spit out some foul language. I'd actually go buy that one believe it or not.

Also, Deion Sanders had a couple of decent ones back in the day but I never heard his full length CD.

Man where the fuoock I been i ain't even know cuzin was rapping!!!! i just can't see him on the mic..... at all. but then again most cats look at me wouldn't think I was even into hip hop let alone trying to spit so I guess i can't say nuthing about that !

but KObe... thug poet ??? anyone know where i can get that ???

oh and get off shaq lol the cuts was nice for the time !!! at least that joint he did on tv with the fu scnickens

I went and previewed this Cena dude's album. For someone who doesn't have music as their #1 priority. This dude is tight. He definatly can pick the right tracks, and he got some flow, with diverse topics too. He aiight with me. Until I hear better, he's got the title. Y'all agree???(I'm still waitin' on Jewells to drop more than 1 song though)

I got Thug Poet somewhere on this computer...if I haven't sent it on its way yet.

Not saying that athletes shouldn't go on the mic, they just shouldn't assume that just because they can rip up whatever court they own that they can walk into a studio and do the same shit with no experience. Jordan can play golf and basketball well, but his baseball game wasn't all that and I'd hate to see him hit a booth.

Waitin' on Kevin Federline's joint (comin' out soon) to hit the streets.

I need a good laff right about now! ;)
