What you can tell me about this daw? is a good recording software?

Personally I think it's awesome but you must understand, just because someone likes it doesn't mean you will, anymore then you will like a restaurant that your friend raves about or the same movies. Most everyone offers demo and/or 'lite' versions. Download a bunch and see which feels the most intuitive for you.

but ableton is not a daw for dj music and digital music? I ask this because I want to record drums, guitar, bass and working with pulgins like ez drummer. mixing etc

Marketing is not functionality. Ableton LIVE got it's start as a fast-response sequencing app marketed to DJs but now is every bit as full featured an audio recording DAW as anything else. If you understand it and it does what you need it to do who gives a damn what the marketing department thinks?

I like the workflow in LIVE. You may not.

i am going to buy a focusrite usb interface and ableton comes with it but i'm a little afraid .

No need. Manufactures either grow their own DAW apps (Mackie with Traction), buy another company (Roland with Cakewalk), or partner up in marketing (Focusrite and Akai with Ableton, Tascam with Cubase), etc.. But regardless they'll all work with each other. There are DAW apps without any hardware partners... Reaper for example. Mackie, Roland, yada yada, will still work with everything else out there. The end result stays the same, only the path you take to get there changes.

 :D

+1 for this answer though. Ableton is great, I use it on occasion for different projects (my main DAW is Logic, just because I'm used that kind of layout).
Ableton has every bit of functionality and power as Logic, Reaper, Cubase, etc... The workflow is different, and it may take a bit of getting used to if your accustomed to DAW's like Logic or Reaper, but don't let that put you off from it.

I have yet to dive very deep into Ableton, but to sum it up (from my limited experience using it): I like it.

Like wheelman said: "The end result stays the same, only the path you take to get there changes."
If you find the Ableton workflow, interface, or whatever doesn't work for you; check out some different DAW's.

I use ableton for working with MIDIs and sampling instruments , it is great for working on (editing) midi files ,and record midi with it , but that s it , I didn't find it that friendly for mixing/mastering , and just IMO it s somehow different , for example if I add an amp sim to a track IMO it sounds different from when I do the same thing in cubase , and even if it is only me and that s my imagination , it s not that handy as sonar or cubase or protools for mixing heavy sessions and mastering , but you can use any vst or vsti with it ;) ...
EDIT : also I never record with it ;) but it is a MUST for my MIDI editing and sampling ...

Never knew they were all compatible. Thank you I was just about to ask if mackie big knob studio was core audio compatible or if it would work with ableton?
