I have an entire hard drive of wav files that have somehow turned from wav files into Unix Executable files? I have no idea how to turn them back into wav files.
Is there anyone in this forum who knows this stuff?

I have no idea. Do the files have extensions/suffixes? What if you add .wav to ends of their filenames. That's all I got.

I’ve tried that and it doesn’t seem to work? How can the entire hard drive sitting on a shelf all of a sudden have the all file extensions changed?

I've heard of this happening when certain file formats were moved to FAT32 drives.
Not with wav, though. Any chance they were some other format like SD2?

Chances are it can be sorted out but I'd recommend taking a backup copy of the whole lot
so if you try something, and it doesn't work, at least you know you can always get back to step one.

Would you be willing to share one of the files for a bit of investigation?

For sure. I can email a couple of files?
