I saw a lot of bad-mouthing this name over on the Adobe forums, all in relation to CEP. Something about he pirated CEP? What's this about?

Peter Quistgard is to some a god and to others their nemesis.

To me, he is a patron saint with a tendency to infect and destroy.

peter walks among us. peter stands erect amongst men and women of Earth. peter fucked syntrillium. peter is bigger now than ever.

Do a google search for CEP2 cracks. His is most probably the serial number you will find. I don't know if he gave it away or what.

joro *slaps* wetteke....

then ducks for cover....the war is about to begin.....

"according to my version of CE i am him!"

And according to me, you're an asshole.

Should a moderator resort to flames? Not really, no. We're supposed to be more restrained, I think. So, I'm a bit out of line.
But not as much as you.

Why are you an asshole? For two reasons that I know of (although there may be more - what do I know?):

1 You didn't pay for Cool Edit, a product which really deserves support.

2 You're boasting about the fact that you didn't pay for Cool Edit on a forum where people really give pirates a hard time.

But you know, a thought has just crossed my mind - maybe you're not an asshole. Maybe you're just kinda stupid. Which one is it, I wonder?

btw, good software needs support, thats why you pay the $300 for cool edit or even $1000 for something like samplitude but WHAT'S THE POINT when syntrillium sells out to adobe which decides to DISCONTINUE all syntrillium products except for CE (nice when you just bought RR) and stops all support for CE (you have to upgrade to audition first - thats not what i bargained for - i bought CE and want to keep using it - not some (similar?) product from another company i don't like!)

i feel very little loyalty for these companies

You may have little loyalty for syntrillium, but the former syntrillium employes still have loyalty for their customers. Red Rover works with Audition. Who's to say that Adobe will not reissue the Red Rover with a different name? Why are you so convinced that Adobe will let us down?

If you still need CE2000 support, you can get it from all the CE experts at the Audiomasters Forem at: http://www.audiomastersforum.org/amforum/index.php

ALL products exept for CEproII have been discontinued (and they won't be back...), when i want further upgrades or company support for my (allmost brand new) CEproII i have to upgrade to audition-i think this is just the first step in the companie totaly changing CE!

why are you so convinced that adobe WON'T let us down?

Because the Synt team is still behind their baby, CEP/AA. Why would they allow Adobe to mess it up when they've spent years and years on it. In the end, customer demand, and what they will pay for is going to drive where Audition will go. There is a lot of demand for Audition to remain a stand alone audio ap. There is also lots of demand to intigrate it with their video editing software. So Audition will probably go both ways. Adobe may even re-release 2000 in the future as a stripped down Audition- if the demand is there. How much would you pay for that Peter?

i'm sorry man but i don't share your optimist views of the corporate world.
if the software developed by the syntrillium company really was their baby would they have allowed a take over that would eliminate most of their children?

btw i had it wrong about the RR, i thought it couldn't be used with audition anymore.

wetteke, if you were joking about having a cracked version of CE, I apologise.

Of course, if you *do* have a cracked version of CE, then the original comment stands. :D

Think I'm joking? You got a sense of humour really?

From what I understand, it's more like a merger than a take over. All the old Synt employees are now Adobe employees.

Dobro chill the fuck out

I was once Peter Quistguard too.

For many home recordists it's just not viable to go out and pay big bucks for a program that might not suit your needs. This has been the arguments from Radium, Zone, Paradox and every other hacking team out there since day one.

Try the hack, if it works pay for the full priced release cause every single program that gets released as a hack has something missing from the full retail price version. It's always been that way, and for that reason.

Don't flame the poor for being given the chance to try before they buy

Just because we're poor it doesn't make us any less honest than the idiot that went out and bought samplitude for midi work. Think about it.
