You really need to broaden the range of music you listen to if you think Travis is God!!

Seriously!!!!

He's somewhere in the middle!

THE MIDDLE!!!

I've met him. Twice. What an asshole!!! But he is my rock god. The reason I play Les Pauls.

Adam Carson from AFI is pretty good. He was a big inspiration for me because when I was younger AFI was my favorite band, and he learned to play the drums pretty quickly. He is definatly a natural. I like his style too because it's not this cocky "Oh look at me it's so easy" style, he just looks like he thuroughly enjoys it, and he moves smoothly, but doesn't do any stupid theatrics...Like Travis. I just get annoyed by "grooving" to the music like he does, it just seems like an act.

At the moment i play a les paul copy i cant afford the real thing.

Billy Cobham, Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Josh Freese, Terry Bozzio, Chad Smith... But the guy that made me really want to take drumming seriously? Danny Carey. He may not be the best drummer, but he is certainly my favorite.

Oh, where do I start.....

Besides the "cliche" inlfuences like Portnoy, Bozzio, and Peart, I've been inspired by:

Matt Taul, Phil Collins, Carter Beauford, Morgan Rose, Chad Smith, Dom Famularo, Danny Carey, Thomas Lang, Carl Palmer; to name a few.

I`m not a drummer.

But my biggest drum inspiration is John Bonham, I remember it wasent before I started listening to Zeppelin, I really was able to apreciate Drums.

He was sorta the guy who woke me up and said It isent all about the guitar :D

So Bonham really changed my musical direction drasticly, unfortunatly for him, away from zeppelin :D

Danny Carey is fucking amazing

I do have a huge knowledge of music

and i will always be a Barker fan at heart

I was brought up on Hendrix and Cranberries anything...

Tony Royster JR hes another god!

but still I will always lead bk to trav!

sorry thats just me!

Bill Stevenson of the Descendents is my inspiration and hero. He's a big guy like me, (hence his nickname, "DrumOgre"), and he doesn't try to be flashy, but he has an amazing sense of time and really adds to the music by doing very little.
Listen to him.

Chad Smith

chad smith of the red hot chili peppers is definately my inspiration. anyone gettin their new cd in a couple of days? Chads also on the cover of the new modern drummer mag.
