Just curious. And what equipment do you use live for it?

We play live with synths/piano/strings on a backing track, depending on the song. We have a pretty simple set up; we have an mp3 player with what we want the audience to hear panned left, and a click/guide gtr on the right, left plugs into a DI which goes to the PA, right goes into a little cmoy headphone amp, and then into my headphones (I'm the drummer). Everyone else has loads of backing track in their monitors and as long as I stay on top of things, we usually do pretty well.

We've only just started playing like this live and I love it. Pressure's on me but when it comes together it sounds awesome and tbh I don't have a problem playing to a click.

I think I have a medium of the line setup for that stuff. I've seen some bands with a really complex setup and I'm curious what they're running.

I use a laptop and firepod for the output. In cubase, I have it setup so that there's essentially 2 tracks. 1 goes to the stereo output of the firepod to the house and the other track goes stereo to the headphone amp.

I have a samson line mixer and a alto headphone amp.

Since me (the singer and guitarist) and the drummer are the only ones who need the click etc, the samson provides 2 aux's and a stereo main. I sing so if I have earbuds, i can't hear the monitor. So, I split my mic both into the regular xlr the venue provides and the other goes into the mixer. So i can send however much I want to the drummer and myself.

The alto headphone amp is 6 channels, each with the option of it's own individual input. So aux 1 from the mixer goes into channel one of the headphone amp etc..

all together in my rack I have a firepod, line mixer, headphone amp and a rackmount DI (venues love that I bring my own)
