The bongo fill gets tired fast. Maybe vary it, make it more dynamic, less aggressive, it sounds like an arranger keyboard fill. Theyre gratuitous. The chorus vocal establishes a feel and groove and the bongos interrupt that. I would also vary that background synth wail sound. The bottom line is though for this kind of stuff is good, varied, changing, dynamic loops make it work. Having 2 basic loops for a chorus and verse dont hold up to repeated listens.
I thought the whole mix could use a bit more in the upper mids and on top, not 6dB or anything but maybe 1.5 to 2dB at 11k, and a bit around 3k depending on where the sibilance is centered. It could just be the mp3 though.
The RNP rocks although this is far from the stereotypical RNP sound. Wise choice on the SM-7 here. Overall the sonics on the vocal are very nice. The biggest hurdle there would be warmth that doesnt sound EQd or overly proximity effectish and you nailed it.
