Wtf is a PRS
I posted this a while back i think in the Digital recording thread...

I am not getting drop outs as frequently from my switch over to reaper. But instead everyonce in a while, i'll just get blasted with a wave of white noise.

This would be a pain in the ass.

I think it has something to do with M-Audio's ASIO drivers. because i haven't expereinced this untill i got this driver.

Now,

I have also been lead to beleive that i am able to use my Line6 PodX3 as a sound device and connect it to my daw as an audio device, becasue currently i am running the POD into my FastTrack then into my daw.

Thats sounds lame but thats how its going.

If i can cut out the Fast Track, i would think that Line6 would have their own ASIO drivers and i may get better perfromance maybe?

Anyone?

Absolutely,
I would definately use the Pod X3 as your interface and throw the Fast Track in a drawer somewhere.

What are you using for monitors? The X3 has balanced outputs so if you have near field monitors, plug em in and away you go!

I dont have good monitors at all. Bookself speakers is about it Monitors and a decent place to work at are next on my list of things to do.

Thanks for the advice.

Just to be sure, you're not using a demo version of any 3rd-party plugins, are you? I know some developers will include bursts of white noise or tones and/or audio dropouts in the unregistered versions of their plugins.

I use the fast track usb In Reaper when recording and I dont get the white noise like you mention.

A few months ago I was starting to get some white noise from the computer...it would be random and never know when it would happen...I basically reinstalled windows and reformatted the computer and it went away.

Yes, i think i updated all the drivers to ASIo and stuff and it kinda fixed it for the most part.

Plus i started using my Line6 Pod as the audio intreface for my guitars and bass and it seems ot have settled down.

I also uninstalled AVG8.5 and things have been better. Thanks.
