Are the Whirlwind Mk series, or the Shure, C25J Mic Cable descent, or are they pretty much in the same league as Rapco cables?

Thanks guys. .

Other than cheap connectors, cables are of two types: spiral foil wrap, and braid type shields.

The foil wrap are more compliant and easier to bend. They can be a bit more subject to noise. The braid type is more noise resistant and more stiff to coil up. With adult supervision, both do the job.

I have a number of cheapie (foil) cables that I treat well, and they do the job. There are more important things to concern yourself over. My cheapies still have Neutrik connectors, which IMO is a huge plus.

Kinda like cheap Speakon cables. Get the ones with genuine Neutrik connectors rather than the asian knockoffs. There is a huge difference in fit and ease of use.

Go to www.hotwiredcables.com and have them make you some cables using Mogami or Canare with Neutrik or Switchcraft connectors. They have very good prices and are cool people. Either that, or buy some BLUE Kiwi mic cables. GC/MF sometimes have good prices on them.
