which would be better to get first. one (of two) marshall v67's, or a akgD112/shure beta 52

or is there any opinions on the d112 or beta52?

thanks!

The AKG D112 is pretty much a bass and kick drum mic... if I'm not mistaken, Harvey (Gerst) has made good comments about the v67s, and I don't know anything about the 52 beta....

Search for any of Harvey's posts in the Mic forum - should be useful to you...

well, i was wondering what i should get first.

the conderser

or the kick mic.

thats all. which one would benefit me more in the studio. i'm thinking the condenser.

The cond. will give you more versatility.... but if you need to record bass or kick... then you'll need the 112 too! Get both!!

:)

that beta 52 is also for kick drum and bass....if you are doing vocals and you dont have a decent condenser, id get the v67...you could always mic a kick with a sm57.....be quiet, i can hear all of you shaking your heads......

i already have 4 57's.....and i mic my kick with this old TEAC small diaphragm mic.

i think i'll use that on the kick, and another 57 on the kick.

then i'll throw up the v67, raising the other 3 57's on the snare, and the two toms.

does that sound like a good plan?

then i'll get the kick mic later. and my amp has a nice xlr out, and i have a pod, so i can get good bass tracks.

thanks! - michael
