Which way does your mix go?

I am curious...for everyone that using computers as a method of your recording, how do you mix?

I record everything into my computer, then use effects and plug ins within the software and then mix down to an uncompressed wav file (onto the hard drive) and then burn to disc.

Are any others doing this? Or are most doing what I call an external mix down, which is what I consider recording to computer and then mixing to another outside source.

What pros and cons are there to using ONLY the computer for all the mixing work?

i guess most daw users do the same as you do.
i think once you're in the digital domain, you want to stay digital, and not go through another series of a/d d/a conversions.

I don't not use a mixing board anymore... I love the feeling of doing something different...

I always mix onscreen with my mouse... I wouldn't have it anyway other way than that...

There are certain inconveniences.. For instance.. I can't grab a bunch of faders and move them all at once..

But, I still love it...

I do that external mixing so to speak....track to my DAW then record it to a stereo track on my daw thru my mixer....i don't usually use any efx accept on vocals..then i export that stereo file to my "mastering" software to add efx which raise the volume of it and make it sound more "analog" and eq if needed usually its not if u mixed it right. I just feel more comfortable using an external mixer and i like the non-linear curve the analog mixer brings to the plate i'm not a big fan of that linear 2 d sound produced by DAW recording
