I' got a very good offer to buy a soundcard but I can' t decide which to buy.
Soundcards are Terratec DMX 6 Fire( 200 euro) , M audio delta 410 (150 euro) or
M-audio audiofile 2496 (170 euro) .

I think best value for money is delta 410 good latency and drivers ?? Is delta 410 an old card and is it same in quality as a audiofile 2496.
I heard that many people have problems with Terratec dmx6 fire
( noise, mic preamp, drivers etc.) but i think it looks very nice with breakout box but I don' t know is it difficult to work with it.

I have
P4 2,53 (motherboard Intels 845 Chips)
512 Mb ddr 2700
120 GB HD
CD burner Arctec 52X40X52X
Graphics: Nvidia 440 tv-out

Excuse me for may bad english.....

IMHO the 410 is definately the way to go. I've owned a 2496 for a couple of days but sold that one and got a 410 because it has more outputs. Quality is on the same level.
If you don't need midi in/output, or already have some sort of midi interface (for instance and old soundcard that you can run side-by-side with the 410), the 410 is an excellent choice, especially for that price. I'm very happy with mine.

I've never used anything by Terratec myself so I can't really comment on that but I'd say that either the 2496 or the 410 are safe choices.
The mic preamp on the Terratec can easily be discarded as a decent option. It does not even have an XLR input so don't buy it just because it has a 'preamp'.

There are not a lot of Terratec users on this bbs, if any. There are however a lot of M-Audio users. That should say something.

Very good answer !

Thank you Christiaan for your answer, and now thanks to you
I' ve decided to buy delta 410.
Thanks........ a.....lot
