Which soundcard should I buy?

Let me start by saying I'm computer stupid...

I have a Yamaha AW1600...using 24 bit mode for me will take more than the 8 tracks available...I will record 7, dump them to my computer, bounce them to 1 and then repeat as necessary on the 1600...I will be using cubase 4 to mix and edit on my computer...my computer is an AMD 64 dual core 4000...I have one gig of ram....what in your guys' opinion would be the best moderately priced soundcard for me?

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to include as much information as I could...oh yeah I forgot to mention that I have to be able to hook my nearfields up to the computer...thanks for your time!

Since you are dumping the tracks via USB, I assume you only need a soundcard for output.

Any basic card will do. Echo Mia, Emu0404 or M-Audio 2496 are excellent cards in the $100 range.

the only problem is that usb might a bit slow so it could get to be a real chore doing it that way....but i could be wrong..just a guess.

Nah..... for dumping tracks it just a hard drive going to a hard drive.

Thank you so much for your reply...and yeah, I only need to soundcard for output and processing in cubase.
