Which soundcard - need advise ...

Need a soundcard that can play soundfont that is not any of the Creative products which as far as I understand are low sound quality. It shouldn't be expensive. Another thing, it is gonna be used along with "GigaStudio". Any features it should have so I can fully implement "GigaStudio" ?

I think GigaStudio requires special drivers. You need a soundcard that has them. If so, the Sound Font issue disappears, because GigaStudio can open and use Sound Font files.

Otherwise, I'm afraid Creative cards (SoundBlaster AWE, Live, or Audigy modes) are the only ones on the market (other than perhaps some even junkier ones) that will play Sound Fonts directly from the hardware.

So I guess I don't really need a card that can play soundfont if software can play them themselves ...

If I got you right, what I actually need is a card that can sample and play audio in high quality and that is compatible with GigaStudio. So which card would you recommend ?
