Hi there,

I have a question, I'm hoping you guys can help me with. I want to buy a 8 track soundcard for my PC to record 8 tracks simultaneously on my harddrive. I know about three cards that might meet my requirements. I'm trying to find out which one is the best.

- Terratec EWS88 MT
- Audiotrak Inca88
- Hoontech DSP2000

I want it to run on win XP, with a AMD duron processor on an Asus A7V (KT133 chipset) motherboard. Some people report hardware conflicts with this chipset...

Does anyone have helpful info for me ? ? ?

Thnx in advance!

In some of their older chipsets (I'm not sure but probably the KT133 as well) VIA didn't implement an extension to the PCI standard named "bus parking". That should not necessarily be a problem however many manufacturers of PCI devices assume the support for bus parking common enough to disregard the possibility that it isn't supported (no flame intended).

This caused some problems. Problems with Creative Labs soundcards are probably the best known.

thanx! This DSP2000 does look impressive btw!

But how is the quality of those cards compared to one another? I always thought that Terratec is the best brand for good audio quality. I have a Terratec Base2PCI (64 bit) card on that same motherboard, and it works even with the old driver under XP!

I want the best card! So does anybody know anything about the other cards compatibility and/or sound quality?
