which should i upgrade?

Does upgrading the processor or the RAM has to do with the quality of music and timing in recording? Or does the soundcard does it all? if the sound card does it all, i have to upgrade only my soundcard and leave my processor and RAM as is.......well?
 
Your RAM and processer should not affect your sound quality. It's simply an issue of if your computer can keep up with the amount of tracks/effects/etc. your running. Having a fast computer with lots of RAM is desirable so that your not freezing up and getting dropouts, or if you need low latency for midi or input monitoring, but it your computer can keep up with your setup the sound qualilty will depend on the sound card.

How fast is your system and what sort of recording will you be doing?
 
depends how slow your current computer is....if your processor is equal or over 1.2 ghz(pentium or athlon not celeron or duron)and u have at least 512 ram. THen definitly getta new sound card
