Hi all-

I'm new to this board. Been reading quite a bit and have learned a lot. I know this has probably come up, I did try searching but couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for, so here goes.

I'm trying to set up a home studio and I'm trying to decide on a mixing console. I've narrowed it down to these three:

Carvin C1644
Mackie 1642 VLZ Pro
Behringer Eurodesk MX2442A

I'm planning on recording to a computer via a M-Audio Delta 44.

Any thoughts, suggestions, other consoles to consider?

Price, as always, is a factor. As well as quality and ease of use. I'm kinda new to this but a (hopefully) quick learner. :D

Also, I'm looking for active nearfield monitors. I see alot of people like the Wharfedale's. Anybody tried the Carvin SRS 6.5A?

Thanks-

Hi Manning1-

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll look into the Yamaha's. (Do they have 4 bus outs?) And I'll check out the websites.

I'm actually going to be recording guitar tracks. Not going to be using MIDI too often.

As far as the PC, it's a P4 2.8 Northwood w/ 512 mb, M-Audio Delta 44 PCI interface. Haven't decided on software yet. Looking for something cheap and easy. (Coincidentally, attributes I look for in women. j/k ;) )

Thanks again-

P.S. Keep the suggestions coming. I have a feeling I'm not confused enough yet. :D

your system is great. to go into the delta 44 inputs you go out the channel insert on the mg.
you wont beat the multitrack software i use even if you spend loads of money. heres the link. note..try the demo. youll be amazed . even does vocal pitch correction and harmonisation. 48 tracks audio or midi or both. if you dont believe me talk to folks on the forums at pg.

nothing comes close.

you should look into the Yamaha 01V series although expensive it is a nice digital board and will not fail on you like mackie or behringer might.
