An $80 mic is not ever going to be "the best" for anything, but if it were me, for that price, I'd go for a Shure SM57.......

Don't really know, but Marshall makes good mikes for a fair price. I'd go with the Marshall just because of the name.

I agree with Bruce...an SM-57 is pretty much the standard mic in that price range, so that'd be what I'd probably buy.

Then again, there's something to be said for having a wide variety of different microphones. That'd be especially true if you already own an SM-57 (not that you can ever have quite enough of them...) But I personally have never heard either of the mics you specifically mentioned; maybe someone else on the BBS has and could shed some light on their quality.
