I want to record some rap vocals over my existing beats. I have a Yamaha AW4416 Workstation. What is the best mic to use. Is there anything else I might need to make the vocals sound better. I want the production to be a little ruff, because I want a mid 90's New York Hardcore style vocal track to go with my mid 90's hardcore style beats. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

pop filter. No matter what Mic you want, get a pop filter.

& this being your 2nd post I'd heavily suggest doing a search across the boards

Hard to go wrong with this one. It's a good choice, and present in many rap producers' studios.

Of course, you'll want a quality preamp to go with that. Try this one:

It comes with a decent compressor on board, which always comes in handy. Good luck, and post a sample when you've recorded some tracks!

Youre going to hell for that TC! swete looking gear though.
