I'm in the market for a new sound module.

I'm currenty using my Yamaha SW1000 card and my Roland XV5050, but I'm interested in getting some Korg sounds for a bit of variation. I know they have some awesome pads.

I've looked around the net for the latest Korg modules, and on thier official site all I can see is naff retro stuff. I don't want my music to sound like it belongs to the 1970s...

Do they have anything out at the moment like the N1R and NS5R? I've looked for those units, and no-one seems to be selling them any more. I don't want to get one second hand, as that's always a bit of a gamble.

I'm looking to spend around £500 - so I'm not interested in spending £900 on a Triton rack - just a bit too expensive for me.

Have Korg given up making contemporary sounding units, to concentrate on the retro/analogue market? ;)

you must search for a used one.
IMHO the N series is not very actual, but it have some useful sounds (I've got an N364). the XV 5050 (that I've got also) sounds better.
keep in mind that the Nseries's filter don't have resonance, so they aren't so powerful.

If you can wait there are voices that a new Korg module will probably born soon (triton extreme rack???)...but this are voices, nothing official
