Both £34.99 on this website with next day delivery, of couse I wanted some £114 beyerdynamic dt100's but my girlfriend advised against it...so which of these MODESTLY PRICED headphones would be best

I am building a studio, i was recording some stuff today with my cheap ass sony headphones and they snapped.

Im building a studio with a modest budget, not a luxury thing at all, these headphones are next day delivery, I just don't want total shit

And try to post the thread in the correct forum. This is the studio construction forum. This is not the appropriate place to discuss prospective headphone purchases.

The newbie forum is probably a good call for this question.

The answer: The ones you like best. Headphones for tracking don't matter so long as you can hear yourself, and you shouldn't be doing any critical monitoring/mixing on phones.

Well you see sir, only after posting did I consider that this was the wrong place for my idle headphone chatter, I can only apologise for my distruption to your otherwise productive foruming.

I will take your advice on the cross posting for future reference.

Thank you for your help and advice on headphones, although you and many others in this forum worry me by advising against headphones, this causes a problem as monitors are very expencive and can only be used for recording and studio work, where as headphones are more versitile.

After thinking long and hard I decided which headphones to buy, and regret wasting everybodys time.

:(

But as you will read...in the end the reviewer mentions that he has a bunch of Fostex T20RP, and that they are very studio-worthy.
I love the Fostex T50RP (have 3) and will get some T40RP which are full-closed back, unlike the T50RP which are semi-open, but fantastic for critical listening.
 
I'm still using a set of original Fostex T-20's I bought new in '86.

I love 'em to death. I used to do rough mixes on them late at night to get me in the ball park before the main session the next day.

I wish I could find another set of these. I've been coming up with zero leads for the last few months.
