which devices will record 4 or more seperate tracks simultaneously?

I though all the Multimix's by alesis did.. but I must have been mistaken.

Any interface that has 4 ins will. You just got to route each channel to whatever track you want. IE (Delta44) Input 1 = Track 1 on DAW, Input 2 = Track 2 on DAW, etc. Then just arm whatever one you want to record... Record on all of them? arm all 4 tracks & record.

The Alesis Multimix Firewire will record Multiple Tracks at once but the USB versions are Limited to a Stereo Mix of all Inputs....

Minion.. you have the delta 66.. that can't be much different than the delta 66.. which is what I have.. I am using audition.. can u help me set it up? I have never been able to figure it out.

the mixer I bought is what I believe limits my recording. it only has stereo outs.. and not an out per channel.

thats why I was looking at something for my laptop.. so I can record at home or abroad. I need to be able to do drums though.. so I need at least 4 seperate simultaneous tracks.

Do you not have inserts on your mixer? Most full featured mixers have inserts for every channel...

My Mixer doesn"t have Direct outs either so I use use the Mixer for Drums, I mix the drums on the mixer to a stereo signal and output from the Mixer into Inputs 1 and 2 of my Delta, I then can record Bass and Guitar through Inputs 3 and 4 of the Delta but I use a couple Standalone preamps for this and mic the Guitar and bass....After I can add Vocals or other Guitar or other tracks one at a Time.....

Cheers

How about this series of mixers?

it has 4 preamps.. I don't see why it would record 4 seperate tracks?

I have a Delta 66, but I can't seem to figure out how to set it up so I can record 6 different tracks at once.. or can u even do that?

I was looking at this, since it would even work with my laptop since its USB.

That mixer has 2 main outs, and 2 alt outs so yes you should be able to record 4 seperate tracks through your delta 66.

Route channels 1 and 2 to the Main outs. Hard pan channel 1 left, hard pan channel 2 right. This will send channel 1 to Main out 1 and channel 2 to Main out 2.

Route channels 3 and 4 to Alt Outs 3 and 4 (there should be a button on there somewhere that selects the alt outs). Again hard pan channel 3 left & channel 4 right.

Now just run the 4 outs into your 66
