Hi,

I've been getting good work done ever since I got my Grace 101 pre but today I put my Nano Compressor in the chain and realized that some compression will really help me get better tracks.....this Nano Compressor ain't worthy!

Could someone suggest a more compatible match in the way of a compressor for my Grace?

Thanks,
Rusty K

How many times do people need to hear it!!

The FMR Audio RNC is the best value compressor on the market, by far. Try using your search button, you will only find about 1,000 threads which have come to that exact conclusion.

is there anywhere is the uk that sells the "really nice compressor" that anyone knows of?

According to http://www.fmraudio.com, you can order directly from them! Also Mercenary Audio is more than happy to ship internationally. I purchased my 2 RNCs, my Great River, and my Neumann KM184 from them and was very happy with their service.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. On the back of the RNC you have:

LEFT
IN= tip-in ring-out then just an OUT

RIGHT
IN= tip-in ring-out then just an OUT

SIDE CHAIN
tip-out ring-in

My question is how do you hook this up to let's say a MIXER?

I am familiar with the Cable that has a TRS jack with the Tip and Ring jacks on the other end.

If your mixer has inserts, just connect the RNC and the mixer using a TRS-TRS cable. Plug one end of the cable into the mixer and the other end into the Left In. Their website explains how this IN is actually an Insert just like the insert no your mixer.

If your mixer has inserts you get a Y adapter that splits to tip and ring....plug the tip to the tip portion fo the rnc then connect the ring portion to the ring portion of the RNC.

If your mixer doesn't have inserts you'll have to run the output of the mixer into the in and the out of the RNC to the DAW

You don't need a Y-Adapter with inserts and the RNC. Essentially, the IN on the RNC is also an insert! Check out their site for details.

Thank you. Yes my mixer has 2 Main Inserts (L&R). It was the OUT of the RNC that confused me a bit. So the RNC IN is just a Tip and Ring, In and Out used to put in-line (series) with your device,ie mixer inserts.
