It doesn’t seem CDBaby and a few others I’ve looked at propagate music to Pandora. Does anybody know one that does?

thanks

Pandora accepts submissions based on a jury protocol. They require that your physical cd's are available on Amazon (CDBaby does that!) and you submit three songs to them and they will decide whether to put your tunes up in rotation or not.

I've looked into them before, but never followed through. It's something I really should do.... ah, but once I get past the procrastination stage.

Yes - Chili is correct. No commercial duplicator/replicator/service can submit to Pandora, and those offering to do so can potentially be a scam. What chili outlines about the process is also correct. It can take months, there is no real feedback during the process and all decisions are final... The music must pass a critical analysis from a human review panel, and be deemed worthy/relevant to be included. If rejected there is a waiting period before you can submit again. There is a really high barrier to entry and your stuff has to basically be great. I have a couple friends who made the gauntlet, but they are SERIOUSLY freaking talented guys who recorded great material in top notch studios, professionally mixed and mastered.

Alternatively, you can have a million YouTube subscribers. Perry Gripp and Epic Rap Battles of History are on there probably mostly on those strengths.

I am now a firm believer in youtube. I don't have any idea what it is, but more people have heard my music since I started making stupid videos and posting on youtube over the past 6 months than in the entire previous 20 years.... That ain't saying much as my average is about 200 views lol, but downloads of my tracks and traffic on my blog and fb has been way up. With all that I don't sell anything ,so who knows...

There's your answer. If you care about selling, and you're not selling, then youtube hits and facebook likes and blogs obviously means nothing.

It's funny....it's never been easier to promote one's self. The internet has shrunk the globe to the size of a computer screen. Facebook, youtube, twitter, etc makes it simple to potentially achieve levels of exposure that were damn near impossible before. You can potentially get fans literally on the other side of the world......Yet still no one makes any money or has any actual fans. Why even bother? :laughings:

Oh - I know what you mean - but I'm literally not selling anything, as in I don't have anything for sale. I just do it to enjoy myself and share stuff with people. I can't really make the mental investment to make a real album. I have dozens of friends with *way* more talent than I have who have albums, thousands of facebook likes, all over youtube and everywhere else and sell *nothing*. So I meant, who knows if anything I am saying actually means anything :-)
