Hey Peepies. Would appreciate some simple suggestion/s (i.e. dont blow my little mind with your techno brilliance :o) as to what cd burning software I should use. It's a very minimal application to put my demo on cd and maybe make 20 or so copies. Im using Samplitude 11 Silver and a 32 bit laptop with Vista. Oh...do let it be free :)

Sounds like Media Player will work just fine for your application. It always places tracks in alphabetical order, so just add 01, 02, etc to the title of the tracks to change the burn order. :)

Why not make a master CD with Samplitude and then copy it with a burning software that does exact copies (disc at once). Even Nero can do it.

Alan.

thx Alan . I would have thought that's the only way to do it...?..yeah i will bear this in mind. why do you say "even" Nero. does Nero have limitations. Do you agree that Windows Media Player is a good option?

Not everyone bought a device with a free copy of Nero. I have 3 copies of it, and ever needed it to burn a simple CD. WMP, is just fine for simple burning.

Alan is correct, but you do not really need to do anything more than burn a few discs right?

What I meant by the "Even Nero" comment was that a lot of computers come with a free Nero lite or something similar, all these burning softwares can do a good copy. However use a disc at once setting, or you will change the gaps between songs and induce errors, and also check that it's not burning at maximum burn speed, as this is often the default setting. I usually burn copies at 8 x.

Another good set up is to have 2 cd (dvd) drives in the same computer, that way you can put the master in one and burn copies in the other, that way the computer does not have to load the master first. Cd drives are very cheap now.

Cheers
Alan
