Which box appropriate for midifiles?

I'm planningto start making standard midifiles for other people like gm/gs files.
I wonder what kind of module i should use for this.

I know midifiles are sounding different on several modules around,
so It has to be something that gives a kind of average "monitor" for me.

What do u think?

Well most modules can to GM well, but if it is GM/GS compatibility you are specifically looking for than check out the Edirol Studio Canvas Modules. They are soley designed for GM/GM2/GS/XG(-Lite) composers (compatibility vary by models). They start at around $200 and up, brand new.
