It must be JAL 'cause Jam don't shake like that! [old musician - old tune]

Yo Jal:

I use an ART pre also; however, I don't have the tube.

You can run about anything you want through the preamp; I like it for vocals; however,I've run stuff from my DX-7 synthesizer through the pre and it works fine. I can also run direct to my MD-8 recorder but using the pre puts "things" UP Front, like vocals or a horn solo.

If you have input and output knobs on your pre, experiment by cutting back the input a bit and extending the output on the preamp. This can give you some pffatt sounds depending on the rest of your rig.

Just experiment with the pre and you may be predisposed to using it often.
