Hello everyone, I have a question that may go in the recording techniques forum, but because its analog, I'm posting it here.
I currently am using a Studiomaster(don't laugh, its all I have and have to use it for now) 20x8x2 mixer, with NO direct outs but it does have channel inserts.
In regard to tracking electric bass:
Which would be the better way to use a compressor when tracking. Using the inserts or inline with buss outs? Or is there even a difference? Or is this a laughable question. I'm just now getting around to serious tracking and would also like to know if there is any purpose in running the 8 buss outputs to a patchbay. In otherwords, does anybody EVER put anything between the buss outputs and the recorder. I would love to have direct outs, but alas....
My recorder is (2)synched MSR-16's.
