Where to get an adat serviced?

Im in columbus ohio, and my adats havent been serviced/checked in about 500 hours. Id like to take it to a tech, but I dont know who to contact. I dont want to ship these things.
 
Call Alesis and find out who does ADAT maintenance in your area. You could also try their website. Don't take it to a standard electronics technician unless they also have a good track record cleaning and aligning ADAT's already. The parts inside are fairly similar to a VCR, but also very different. The best way to need a new head stack is for someone to treat your current one as if it came out of a vcr:D
 
if it aint broke dont fix it. get the instructuions on how to clean the heads yourself . i think the only other recommended thing is to change the capstan rollers. what ever you do send it to alesis when possible. i delt with somr big repair facilities in n.y.c and they couldnt get things right.
 
First, I would not clean the heads yourself unless you really know what you are doing. Second, I have had much better luck with good repair shops than I have with Alesis themselves. Third, if you wait till an ADAT is broke to have it repaired or have maintenance done on it then your bill will be MUCH higher and will probably take much longer.
