I have the money saved up to purchase a DIGI 002 Factory Bundle.

What I would like to know from you is what online music stores have you done business with, and would you recommend them to me.

I'm being a bit cautious because Ive never made a purchase this big online.

Thanks, all, and sorry if this is the worng place, but I couldn't find a general reccommendations, or general chat forum.

Ive made a few online purchases like this. I have alway had good luck with www.samedaymusic.com ,also zzsounds (who I think may be the same), Sam's ass are okay. I had trouble several times with music123 asbout slow dellivery.

Give Sweetwater a try. With Sweetwater you get knowledgable sales reps and access to their tech support.

i got my digi 002 bundle at Guitar Center, they match any price that offers lower than they offer....plus they cut the price a little cause i bought lots of mics along with it that day, total was like 4,500...shoulda been 4,800...so i saved 300 bucks..not bad

The answer depends partly on what you are looking for and what you are buying (I know you're getting the 002, but I'm talking more generally). If you want lightning fast service, a place like Zzounds works really well. They also do well on pricing as does MusiciansFriend. The latter also has a price guarantee which according to reports actually works. For personal service, Sweetwater is good since you work through an account representative. These guys are interested in what type of studio you have and what you're working on. On the other hand, it seems a bit unecessary if you just want a quick transaction or something simple like cables. Sweetwater's inventory is also not as "trackable" as Zzounds/MF. They list stuff on line which may or may not actually be in stock. Zzounds and MF allow you to check inventory on an almost minute to minute basis. For really personal service, I would go with a small shop like Mercenary or Atlas. Of course, the don't handle the Digidesign 002. But, for future reference, they are really good at giving you personal equipment reviews since they are working engineers with hands on experience. They also test a lot of equipment which is helpful if you are worried about buying a dud. The small shops are also a lot more flexible on equipment auditions. Of course their inventories tend to be smaller and they aren't going to have any new Behringer products!
